PACKAGING ECODESIGN: THREE SDR PACK PACKAGING SOLUTIONS AWARDED BY CONAI

We are pleased to announce that three of our flexible packaging solutions have received awards from CONAI - Consorzio Italiano degli Imballaggi (Italian Packaging Consortia) as part of the “2020 Contest for Packaging Ecodesign in the Circular Economy”:

• MOPEK recyclable monofilm packaging for bofrost *Italia
• Compostable laminated packaging for Gruppo Germinal
• Recyclable laminated packaging for Torrefazione caffè Gourmet

The 2020 edition of the CONAI Contest was conceived to collect and enhance packaging solutions with reduced environmental impact, highlighting their innovative content in terms of environmental protection. CONAI decided to award packaging solutions that have an innovative concept and ecodesign, with a focus on the “cradle-to-cradle” approach: in other words, packaging designed to reduce the use of raw materials and enhance resources at the end of their life cycle in order to reduce the impact of packaging and promote environmental sustainability.

Over the next few days, we will be looking at each of the three award-winning solutions in greater detail. We would like to thank bofrost* Italia, Gruppo Germinal and Torrefazione Caffè Gourmet for embarking with us on this journey to redesigning their packaging, for sharing with SDR PACK a focus on the importance of sustainable packaging, and for participating in the Contest with great enthusiasm.

We are extremely proud of this recognition awarded to us by CONAI since it repays our R&D work and all the efforts we have made over the years in designing alternative packaging solutions with lower environmental impact. We work towards this goal every day, and receiving this recognition has motivated us even more to continue working in this direction.
