OUR ROOTS, THE FOUNDERS OF SDR PACK
LET'S GET TO KNOW MARINA FERRACIN, CARLO FERRACIN AND SANDRO FERRACIN
What’s your name?
How long have you been with the Company?
M: Since I was 19.
C: Forever...I am one of the founders. I started in ‘73, and in the ‘80s my brothers and I took over the company.
S: Since 1978.
What was your first job in the company?
C: Factotum: deliveries, production, managing Customers.

What is your role now?
C: Manager of Extrusion and Research and Development.
S: I am now in charge of the technical aspects of the various production multi-laminates, internal and external training consulting and public relation activities.
What would you like to say to your brothers-co-workers who work with you?
M: That we have built a great company through hard work, farsightedness and the harmony that we have always maintained as a group. We must try to convey these values to our children, to continue our mission.
C: I would like to tell them that we have been a great team and that we have done a great job by working together and making this family concern thrive.
S: I would like to tell my brothers that we have come a long way together. We succeeded in creating a Leading company through modesty and collaboration.
Considering that there are so many young people working at the company, what would you like to convey to the new generations?
M: Commitment, responsibility and respect are crucial to being the very best at your job.
C: Firstly to be an example, and to love one’s job. One needs to work professionally and with commitment.
S: I would like to say to them that a job well done and with due enthusiasm will always bring positive results in terms of personal and economic growth.
What do the human resources at your company represent for you?
M: People with their potential, their qualities and their flaws. Precious collaborators.
C: Human resources are the Company’s value. We can have the best machinery, but if we don’t have great, trained staff that strives to operate it, we won’t go anywhere...They are the core of the Company!
S: For me, the human resources of my Company represent the result of years of hard work and expectations for the future.
What advice do you have for your children, nieces and nephews or grandchildren who work at the company?
M: At the risk of being a bit repetitive...Commitment, respect, dialogue and the importance of considering the various points of view when making decisions, managing commitments and solving problems.
C: I would quote Michael Jordan “Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships”.
S: I would tell them to continue along the road that the Company began paving thirty years ago. The advice that I would give is that, in today’s world, where work is increasingly more challenging, you need to be careful not to waste energy and money. They need to stick together and cooperate.
What does SDR mean to you?
M: SDR is an important part of my life...I committed myself to SDR, and it gave me gratification. It is also a great responsibility towards Customers, our Collaborators and Suppliers.
C: For me it represents a lifetime of work. Great sacrifices, but even greater satisfaction.
S: For me SDR represents a lifetime of work, of sacrifices and fortunately also satisfaction.
In a word, what is your greatest quality? What is your flaw?
M: My best quality in a single word? Determination. My flaw might be sensitivity...I take things to heart.
C: My quality would be perseverance and dedication. My flaw is being impulsive.
S: Work-wise my best quality is my knowledge of the market, because I have been there since the onset. My flaw could be taking on problems that are actually no longer my responsibility.
What famous person do you like? If you could be a famous person, who would you be?
M: Samantha Cristoforetti, because she achieved great things with her determination and character.
C: I have great admiration for Bill Gates. He is admirable because on top of being a self-made man, he recently declared that 95% of his earnings aren’t required for his family and that he uses it to help others, confirming his commitment to increasing the Global Fund which finances the fight against Aids, tuberculosis and malaria.
S: A person that I admire is Pietro Ferrari, because I believe he had a remarkable vision of the future. If I had to be someone, on the other hand, I would like to be Mark Zuckerberg or some other outstanding IT specialist (a subject I am not knowledgeable in).

M: I like sincerity, honesty. I can’t stand ambiguity.
C: I like loyalty, honesty. I can’t stand arrogance and people who are full of themselves.
