Compostable packaging for Casereccia by Salati Preziosi
Biodegradable and compostable packaging for crisps, that can be thrown away with the compost, and that turns into compost in just three months in an industrial composting plant. The packaging that we created for Casereccia by Salati Preziosi is the result of extensive Research and Development, design and testing, developed in the last three years. We are proud to have contributed to the ambitious project for Salati Preziosi, one of the first companies to have believed in the possibility of wrapping its products with a compostable packaging solution.
The compostable packaging of Casereccia is metal foil partly obtained from renewable resources and certified OK COMPOST INDUSTRIAL by Tuv Austria, in compliance with standard EN 13432, suitable for packaging in modified atmosphere and for food contact.
Premiered at the Marca 2020 trade show, the packaging for Casereccia was awarded the important recognition of the ADI Packaging Design Awards 2020 for the Food category: a prize for the research and communication that gives value to the choice to develop a completely compostable product. The elements that contributed to winning this prize were the simple and clean yet very direct design with the story of the compostable packaging and the preparation method on the back of the pack, and the innovation for the compostable wrapping.
